USA SUP Announces 2027 National Championships in Historic Mystic, Connecticut

USA SUP, the national grassroots organization built by paddlers for paddlers, is thrilled to announce that its 2027 USA SUP National Championships will take place from August 26–29, 2027, in historic Mystic and Groton, Connecticut.

Bringing the National Championships to the NorthEast region, this four-day marquee event will feature USA SUP’s signature distance, sprint, and technical races—along with a few exciting new surprises for athletes and spectators alike.

For 2027, USA SUP is taking a fresh approach to its premiere event. Instead of partnering directly with an existing race, the USA SUP National Championships team will lead event operations in close collaboration with veteran race director Jack Egan (Charles Island SUP Cup) and Jeff Jodoin, owner of Adventure Mystic. The event will be hosted at Esker Point Beach Park, made possible through the generous support of Ben Morse and the Groton Parks and Recreation Department.

"USA SUP’s mission is to grow stand-up paddling by engaging participants, championing safe, fair, and inclusive events, and building a strong national community," said Linda McCoy, President of USA SUP. "Bringing our 2027 National Championships to the NorthEast allows us to showcase the incredible magic of New England water sports. Working alongside Jack, Jeff, Gail, and the National Championships Committee, we are designing a world-class event for all of our members and competitors."

"New England boasts incredible coastal waters and scenery, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience the magic and hospitality of our region on and off the water."

"Mystic and Esker Point Beach offer an incredible canvas for championship paddling," added Jack Egan, Veteran Race Director. "We are crafting an event that honors competitive spirit while delivering an unforgettable coastal New England experience for every athlete who steps on the line."

"Adventure Mystic is honored to welcome paddlers from across the country to our home waters," said Jeff Jodoin, Owner of Adventure Mystic. "We look forward to working with USA SUP and Groton Parks and Rec to create a seamless, world-class weekend for racers, families, and fans."
